What are the Smartsheet Advance Apps? (We used all of them to build ClinSheets)

ClinSheets is very different to creating Smartsheet sheets for yourself. It leverages all of the premium apps from Smartsheet to create an integrated and incredibly powerful platform blending the best elements of custom code - simple clean UI/UX, great data management, customization and flexibility, scalability - with the benefits of a major SaaS application: reliability, security, data integration and APIs, identity and access management, role based access controls.


To do all of this, you need to use the Smartsheet premium apps. This is a quick primer on the key solutions leveraged to create ClinSheets.

  1. Smartsheet Control Center: The Control Center is a portfolio and project management solution that helps automate and standardize project creation, provides real-time visibility across projects, and allows organizations to scale their project management processes. It's particularly useful for organizations that manage multiple projects or programs simultaneously.

  2. Smartsheet WorkApps: Smartsheet WorkApp is a no-code platform that enables users to build intuitive, custom applications using their existing Smartsheet data and sheets. Launched in late 2020, WorkApp allows organizations to streamline their work processes by creating tailor-made applications without needing any coding or technical expertise.

  3. Smartsheet Dynamic View: Dynamic View is an app that enables users to share specific parts of a sheet with stakeholders while maintaining control over what information is visible or editable. This helps users collaborate more effectively with external partners, customers, or team members, ensuring that sensitive data remains protected.

  4. Smartsheet Data Uploader: The Data Uploader app allows users to easily import data from external sources, such as Excel files or other cloud applications, into Smartsheet. This simplifies data integration and consolidation, making it easier to manage and analyze data within the Smartsheet platform.

  5. Smartsheet Pivot App: The Pivot App enables users to create interactive summary reports and visualizations by aggregating and analyzing data from Smartsheet sheets. It's similar to Excel's pivot tables, providing a way to gain insights from large datasets and make data-driven decisions.

  6. Smartsheet Calendar App: The Calendar App offers a visual, calendar-based view of tasks and projects in Smartsheet. This helps users manage deadlines, track progress, and better understand their project timelines.

  7. Smartsheet Dashboards and Reports: Dashboards and reports are premium features that allow users to create customizable, visual representations of their work data in Smartsheet.
